Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) stands as a beacon of higher education in Kazakhstan, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. Nestled in the heart of Almaty, KazNU offers a vibrant campus life and a diverse range of programs that cater to the evolving needs of the global job market.
KazNU is dedicated to providing a high-quality education that combines rigorous academic training with practical experience. The university’s state-of-the-art facilities, experienced faculty, and strong industry connections ensure that graduates are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the modern world. The emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world application sets KazNU apart as a leader in higher education.
One of the university’s standout programs is *Computer Science and Technology*, which attracts talented students from across the globe. Among these students are Zhadyra Yergaliyeva and Zhandos Tolegen, two dedicated and passionate individuals who are currently pursuing their master’s degrees at KazNU.
Zhadyra recently completed her teaching internship focused on *Database Theory*. Under the expert guidance of her mentor, Professor Tatyana Alexandrovna Shmygaleva, Zhadyra conducted practical seminars for second-year students. These sessions were designed to provide hands-on experience in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and database design. The students were highly engaged and eager to learn, and it was incredibly rewarding to see them grasp complex concepts and apply them in practical scenarios.
Zhandos also undertook his pedagogical practice within the same department, focusing on the subject *Database Theory* as well. His classes were conducted for a Russian-speaking group of second-year students. Zhandos delivered lectures and seminars on essential SQL operations such as UPDATE, TRUNCATE, ALTER TABLE, and DELETE, among others. His teaching style emphasized clarity and real-world application, making it easier for students to understand the practical importance of relational databases.
In addition, Zhandos organized and led an open lesson on MongoDB Compass Shell, where he introduced students to key NoSQL operations such as insertOne(), insertMany(), logical functions, and aggregation pipelines. The class was highly interactive and sparked student interest in alternative database technologies beyond SQL.
Both Zhadyra’s and Zhandos’s efforts have left a lasting impact on their peers, inspiring many to delve deeper into the field of computer engineering. KazNU prides itself on fostering an environment where students like them can thrive—combining rigorous academic training with meaningful practical experience.
As KazNU continues to grow and evolve, it remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators.
